Rules of Operation of the Public Registry of Water Rights
The Public Registry of Water Rights (“REPDA”) grants security to the users of national waters and their essential public goods; safeguarding the registered rights and ensuring that every person has the right to be shown the registry matters and obtain proof of these. This Registry helps with the following procedures:
Concessions: It is a document that grants rights to persons, physical or moral, to use, exploit and take advantage of national waters and inherent assets.
Assignment titles: The assignment title is the official document that is issued when water is used for the provision of urban or domestic public services.
Rights: The Rights of users in the use of national waters.
Extension of the concession: The concession title or permit is not forever, before its validity ends, it is necessary to request an extension so that you do not lose your rights to process the extension within the last five years prior to the end of its validity, at least six months before expiration. The concession can be renewed up to the same term and characteristics of the current title.
The purpose of these Rules is to establish the bases of operation of the services provided by the Public Registry of Water Rights of the National Water Commission, by establishing the necessary requirements to be in a position to carry out the registration of any act that, in accordance with to the National Waters Law, is susceptible of registration, as well as for preventive annotations and the means through which the data in the Registry will be publicized.
